Prof. Dr. Shreedhar Gautam
Prof. Shreedhar Gautam, Ph.D., is a distinguished Nepali academic, administrator, and literary critic with over four decades of experience in higher education and international relations. Born in Gulmi in 1959, he holds a doctorate in English from Banaras Hindu University (1998), alongside degrees in Political Science and Law from Tribhuvan University. His career is defined by his long-standing tenure at Patan Multiple Campus (T.U.). Dr. Gautam has authored several influential books, including A Nepalese Perspective on Global Issues and Nepal Through Political Quagmire. His research footprint is extensive, having supervised 12 Ph.D. scholars and over 100 Master’s theses. Beyond the classroom, he is a prominent figure in Nepal’s intellectual landscape, serving as the President of the Literary Association of Nepal (LAN) since 2015 and holding leadership roles in the Nepal Council of World Affairs (NCWA) and the Afro-Asian People’s Solidarity Organization (AAPSO). His expertise in diplomacy and global peace is reflected in his participation in high-level international conferences across Russia, Japan, France, and India, frequently speaking on nuclear disarmament, humanism, and regional cooperation. A recipient of the prestigious Mahendra Vidhya Bhusan and a Fulbright Scholar (New York University), Dr. Gautam has also served as an editor for over 40 journals and publications. His work continues to bridge the gap between academic literary study and contemporary political discourse, making him a vital voice in Nepal’s professional and cultural spheres.
